Privacy

The Brouillon editor has no telemetry and no account, works offline. Its only own network request is a signed update check at start-up, which you can turn off. Cloudflare sees your IP address as for any web request; nothing else is sent. This website sets no cookies, runs no JavaScript and loads nothing from third parties.

This page describes the alpha test build and this website.

The editor

Brouillon does not send usage data, crash reports, file names or file contents anywhere. At start-up it checks a signed update file on brouillon.rochetta.fr and installs a newer build automatically; set updates.check = false (or the environment variable BROUILLON_NO_UPDATE=1) to disable every network request. Settings, session, dated backups and the crash journal are stored on your computer, in the Brouillon data folder of your user profile (or beside the program in portable mode).

Windows SmartScreen may contact Microsoft when you run the unsigned installer or program; that is Windows behaviour, not Brouillon.

AI agents

Agent access is not part of the test build. When it is added it will be off by default, will need an explicit action to enable, and every change an agent proposes will need your approval. If you connect an agent that uses a cloud model, the text it reads may be sent to that provider under its own terms; Brouillon cannot control this and will warn you.

This website

No cookies, no analytics script, no JavaScript at all, no third-party requests, no embeds. Fonts (Inter and JetBrains Mono, SIL Open Font License) are hosted on this site.

The site is static and hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As for any web host, server logs may include your IP address and the time of the request.

Downloads

Downloading the build is an ordinary web request to this site. The program does not contact us when you run it.
